The Ett Hem is a hotel that strives to be just like home and wonderfully stylish too. The twelve rooms are as intimate as any private space, painted in warm colors, with parquet floors, and furnished in a mix of styles of pretty designer pieces ranging from chandeliers to retro standing lamps from the sixties. This wonder of hip hominess is the work of Ilse Crawford, famous for designing the New York Soho House. The Ett Hem – which translates to “at home”– is housed in a large, brick gingerbread house, that was erected in 1910 by Architect Fredrik Dahlberg for the Swedish authorities and his wife, and includes a winter garden where you’ll feel just as comfortable as in your own.
